The voice is artificial. The writing is not.
Authorship in the age of artificial intelligence.

Under the name tylerdurdan* I develop AI-driven music projects exploring authorship, identity and the transformation of creativity in the age of generative technologies.
My work combines human written lyrics, AI generated voices and hybrid production, creating a space where intention and unpredictability coexist.
Rather than using artificial intelligence as a shortcut, I approach it as a condition, one that reshapes performance, language and artistic presence.

Process

Each track is written, structured and conceptually developed by the author, while voice and sound are generated through AI systems.
The result is not automation, but orchestration, where i can define language, narrative and meaning, while technology becomes a medium.

Position
This is not about replacing musicians.
It is about questioning what authorship means when tools evolve.
AI does not remove creativity.
It exposes it.
AI did not replace creativity. It changed where creativity happens.
Approach
Each track begins with writing.
Lyrics are human, intentional, grounded in lived experience.
Voice and sound are generated, shaped through artificial systems.
This tension is the core of the project.
Not artificial vs human.
But authorship vs automation.
PROJECT
tylerdurdan*
An AI-driven music project exploring identity, language and power.
A body of work where hip-hop and rap becomes a space of reflection, not only on sound, but on authorship itself.
From Buffet (2024) to Secondo (2026), the project evolves as a continuous inquiry into measure, excess and meaning.
Experience
Music is not only something to listen to.
It is a system of signs.
A cultural artifact.
A position.
Each production is both a track and a political act.
Inceptions
essemagazine on tylerdurdan*

I didn’t just get featured. I slipped in.
For the first time, an AI rap project made its way into Esse Magazine, sitting right next to mainstream artists, inside one of the most influential platforms in Italian rap.
Not as a gimmick, not as a curiosity. but as a signal: the system is already being rewritten from within.
Releases
Secondo (2026)

— Secondo is a concept rap album about measure, excess and absence.
Written between limitation and recovery, the album explores the question of “how much is enough”, moving across lack, excess and balance, as both existential and political conditions.

Primo (2025)

— Primo, the second album by tylerdurdan* (Raffaele Annunziata), marks a significant evolution after Buffet, blending generative AI with high level production by the italian producer Max Bertoli.
A project where human written lyrics and refined sound design converge, pushing AI music beyond experimentation into a more structured and professional dimension.

Buffet (2024)

— Buffet is presented as the first european rap album created entirely with generative AI, marking a pivotal moment in the evolution of music production.
More than a release, it represents a shift in authorship, where human writing meets machine generated voice and performance.
Listening to Buffet means stepping into a new paradigm, where creativity is no longer limited by execution, but expanded through technology.

Research
AI music, for me, is not about generating sound.
It is about questioning what remains human in writing, interpretation and intention, when the voice is no longer tied to the body.
Context
This work exists within a broader cultural moment where artificial intelligence is often framed as a threat.
Instead, this project approaches it as a tool, revealing biases, structures and possibilities within creative production.
The question is not whether AI can create.
The question is: who is still authoring the meaning?
